Resumen de la inauguración de mi exposición “Términos Femeninos” en el lounge del Hotel de Pacha.
Personalmente no me parece que hay algo mas aburrido y casi absurdo que enviar invitaciones a amigos físicamente lejanos para los “openings” de las exposiciones.
Creo que estarás mucho mas interesado en ver como están colgado los cuadros y como estoy yo, como amiga/artista lejana.
Por esto: un reportage:
A diferencia de mis anteriores exposiciones, el día previo a la inauguración, el jueves 24, ya estaban colgadas las obras en la sala.
Los asistentes técnicos del Hotel Pachá hicieron todo el trabajo de colgar.
Yo solo tenia que indicar las ubicaciones. ¡Qué lujo!
Las obras estaban en Ibiza desde hacía una semana, porque se aprende más de los errores que de los éxitos. Ahora sé muy bien que hay que tener tiempo para ir sobre seguro.
Fue una sensación muy extraña, todo estaba hecho y solo había que disfrutar del momento. Había llegado a la isla con 4 días de antelación para realizar con tranquilidad los preparativos: avisar a la gente de la isla, poner en marcha todo para la prensa, etc.
Y está se portó de fabula: tanto el periódico El última hora como El diario de Ibiza hicieron reportajes sobre la exposición. ¡Incluso antes de la inauguración!
English: Unlike previous exhibitions, the day before the opening, Thursday 24th,
my works were already hanging on the exposition walls.
The technical assistants of the Hotel Pacha had done all the work of putting up the pictures.
I only had to indicate their locations. Such a luxury!
The paintings had been in Ibiza for already a week,
obviously I have learned from my former mistakes and stress.
Now I know one has to have timespace to be on the sure side.
Even so it was a very strange feeling to know that everything was done and
that I only had to enjoy the moment.
I had come to the island 4 days in advance to do all the necessary preparations: invite the people of the island, call the press, etc.. So that was done too!
All the press cooperated fabulously: both the newspapers
“El última hora” as “El diario de Ibiza” printed their interviews on the day of the opening.
Some of their journalists even attended the opening!
The local television also came to do an interview, which was on air the next day in the cultural department of the daily newsflash.

La televisión local vino con un cámara y una presentadora y en la radio me entrevistaron también.
Estoy muy contenta de cómo lucían los cuadros en la sala.
Esta es una de las razones del porqué elegí la galería del Hotel Pachá para hacer la exposición.
Su lounge es espacioso pero de dimensiones humanas,
blanco sin ser un cubo estéril,
amplio y con varios “rincones” que crean ambientes diferentes y enriquecen las elecciones al colgar.
One of the reasons I chose the lounge of the Hotel Pacha for the exhibition is for its’ space.
And I’m very happy on the result of how the pictures appeared in it.
Their lounge is spacious yet with human scale.
It’s like a white cube without the sterile, still feeling,
wide but with several “corners” that recreate different moods but never overrides the paintings.

A las 9 de la noche del viernes 25 de septiembre llegaron los primeros visitantes.
At 9 pm on Friday, September 25th the first visitors arrived.
Y no pararon de llegar hasta las12 de la madrugada.
Ha venido gente de todo tipo:
curiosos, amigos con familia,
gente del mundo del arte ibicencos, y cómo no, algún que otro famoso…
And they did not stop to come until about midnight.
All sorts of public were there:
friends with their family,
curious bypassers,
people from the Ibiza art world,
and of course, some celebrity …

Gary Dougan (de la serie CSI Nueva York) y su amiga escucharon muy atentamente
las explicaciones que yo dio como respuestas a sus preguntas sobre mi obra expuesta.
No solo la cantidad,
sino la calidad de la gente y sus comentarios hacia la obra y la exposición
me han hecho sentirme muy bien.
Al cerrar la noche me he sentido en una palabra: Feliz!
Gary Dougan (of “CSI New York”) and his lady friend listened very attentively
to my explanations as answers to their questions about my exhibited works.
Not only the quantity, but moreover the quality of people and their comments about the paintings and the exposition as a whole made me feel very good.
At the closing of the vernissage I felt in one word: Happy!
Muchas gracias a todos que han asistido,
y a los que no han podido asistir por la lógica razones geográfica
quiero decir: ¡espero que la próxima vez si coincidamos!
